Who am I?

Hey there! I’m Hitarthi Bhinde, a UX Designer passionate about crafting meaningful and intuitive digital experiences.

My journey into design wasn’t a straight path—it was a series of discoveries, explorations, and a deep curiosity to understand how people interact with technology. Design is more than just a profession – it's my passion, my creative outlet, and my driving force. With a background in IT and a heart set on design, I’ve worked with startups and SaaS companies, shaping experiences that bridge user needs with business goals.

I believe great design is rooted in empathy—understanding people, their needs, and emotions, then crafting experiences that truly make a difference.

How I ended up being a designer?

2018 – The Tech Kickstart

I started my IT engineering journey filled with excitement to learn how things worked behind the screen. Coding became my daily grind—HTML, CSS, JavaScript, SQL—you name it! Frontend, backend, databases—I explored them all, thinking this was my future.

2019 – The Turning point

Midway through engineering, I took on an internship, expecting to deepen my coding skills. But towards the end of 2019, I stumbled upon UI/UX design—and something just clicked. It wasn’t just about writing code; it was about creating experiences. That’s when curiosity took over, and I knew I had to explore this field.

2020 – The Learning Phase

Once I knew UX was my thing, I went all in. Courses, certifications, self-learning—I absorbed everything I could. From usability principles to wireframing and design psychology, every new concept pulled me in deeper.

2021 – First Steps into the Industry

Landed my first internship as a UX Designer! This year was a whirlwind experience—I worked with multiple startups, each project teaching me something new. One of the most defining experiences was at Zipteams, a sales startup where I learned the importance of designing for real-world business challenges.

2022 – Clarity & The Big Break

Final year of engineering, and by now, I had both technical knowledge and creative instincts. The realization hit—I wanted to be in design, solving real problems. That’s when I landed a role at Yellow.ai, a leading SaaS company, where I got hands-on experience working on impactful projects. I worked here until 2024, growing as a designer every day.

2024 – A New Chapter Begins

In 2024, I moved to the U.S. to pursue my Master’s in Human-Computer Interaction at UMD. It was my first time living away from home, and everything felt new and exciting. I learned a lot about myself, picked up new skills, and met people from so many different backgrounds. Hearing their perspectives really opened my mind and shaped the way I see design and life.

Summer 2025 – Google Internship

This summer, I got the chance to intern at Google as a UX Designer. I feel so grateful for the experience. I worked with some of the most talented people I’ve ever met, and every day was full of learning. I learned how to deal with ambiguity, how to truly collaborate across teams, and what it means to design at a scale where your solutions can impact millions of people.

2025 — Second Year in HCI

Now I’m in my second year of the HCI program, and I’m learning more about inclusive design. I’m working on my capstone project with a real client, which has been both challenging and exciting. This year is about pushing myself further, upgrading my skills, and preparing for what’s next in my journey as a designer.
